LATEST UPDATE ON LEASE RENEWAL
Following the shock of receiving such a huge rent demand the Trustees have been busy finding out more about the Councils plans, we now know there are 13 other community groups affected so far, and that there is a huge disparity of support the Council offers to some groups over others.
Our first step was to attempt to get the council to explain how they have arrived at the £75k figure, but so far we have received no reply.
We have appointed our own Chartered Surveyor to give us a valuation and to act for us in the negotiations and we are seeking legal help as well.
A huge thank you to everyone who has written to the councillors, at least they cannot claim to be unaware of the situation now (we believe all the decisions so far have been at a committee rather than full council) and we have receive letters of support from both our local MP’s.
If you have not done so yet check out Wembley Matters, a great blog site who have a lot of information on local affairs, and we hope that our situation will be in the local press soon as well.
The theatre will be open on Sundays from
10-12.30 for coffee, set building and light work.
