The Vicar of Dibley
A stage adaptation by Danny Popkin
Based on the original TV series by Richard Curtis and Paul Mayhew-Archer, produced by Tiger Aspect Productions
In 1994 following the death of the 102-year-old Reverend Pottle, the vicar of the fictional St Barnabas church in the rural parish of Dibley in Oxfordshire, the Church of England shocked the entire village by assigning a woman vicar.
After an uncertain start, the majority of the zany villagers eventually came to like and admire Reverend Granger, including the most powerful man in the parish, David Horton, millionaire gentleman farmer and chairman of the Parish Council. Adapted for stage from the scripts of the popular TV series this hilarious comedy is the perfect counter to the cold winter evenings.
